EMA is an organisation specialising in the delivery of Emergency Preparedness solutions for business and the community.
Its web-based Readynet system assembles stores and shares Emergency Management and Civil Defence information about Sites such as Schools, Universities, Rest Homes, Hospitals, Business Premises as well as Special Interest and Neighbourhood Support Groups.
Details captured include contact details, location of people with Special Needs, specific location details, risk analysis for work sites and other information that is required when an emergency event occurs.
All information is stored in a secure and encrypted website, similar to Internet banking.
Only Emergency Services and Emergency Operations Centre (sometimes known as Civil Defence Headquarters) have access to this information. They use it for planning for or responding to emergencies.
“We started by talking to Infopower about what we wanted to achieve. They listened to us, asked searching questions of us and understood what we needed. Their documentation clearly captured our detailed requirements and defined how they could be delivered. The whole process was very interactive. When it was time to build Readynet, we had no hesitation in choosing Infopower. The result has been brilliant”!
“The system has now been in use for over two years. The value of the system was recently highlighted when a child went missing from a school using the system, and the school was able to immediately initiate an effective emergency response”.
“The system we now have in place has recently been rolled out to the Local Government Sector including a pilot across the Hutt Valley. EMA is now able to pursue its plans to make the system more widely available, in the knowledge that it has a robust, secure and effective system in place”.
“In addition to their development of Readynet, their technical services team supplied and set up our internal IT network and provide us with Help Desk support. The Infopower team are easy to work with, and consistently deliver quality product and service on time and to budget”.
