Changes at Infopower
In the last month we have had a number of changes at Infopower. The first thing many of you have noticed in a change in our branding, with our logo for the last 10 years having been ‘jazzed up’ to make it more modern and reflective of how we see ourselves and our trading name changing to Infopower to reflect what most people actually call us!
We have also revised our company by-line which will be reflected on all our print and electronic documents. The new phrase Business Critical Solutions better describes the reality that for most of our clients, the systems we have developed are critical to their operations.
Both these changes came out from work we have undertaken on our new Business Plan, ably facilitated and documented by Alan Platt and Dave Moginie of Progressive Business Solutions.
We have usually had a business plan, but this is the most comprehensive and the first that was supported by an in-depth business review. We have an implementation plan that we formally revisit each month, and have initiated a host of process improvements that will help us to achieve our goals – more on this in future newsletters.
Along with all this, there have been some staffing changes. In the Business Analysis area, Jon (Jonathan)Whiting has been replaced by John Wood (spot the identical initials and similar first names). Jonathan left us a week ago having spent almost two years with us in his first full time BA role – a baptism of fire which he came through with flying colours.
John Wood, comes to us having already had 20 years BA experience across a range of organisations. He brings valuable skills in a number of new analysis tools and techniques.
Another departure has been Sri Thiagrajan, the friendly welcoming voice that many of you would have heard when you called Infopower. Sri has taken a senior accounting role at Stagecoach.
Replacing Sri, we have two new faces. Carole Wilkinson who is looking after general office administration and support and works mornings. Sukhin Rai joined is as a masters student working half time. Sukhin has been helping us document and implement our Project Management Guidelines as well as assisting in other aspects of implementing our new business plan.
Finally, we have another upcoming departure. David Morrison joined us just over a year ago as manager and sales specialist for our Technical Services area. David has had a tremendous impact in a number of areas, including the introduction of new products and processes as well as services such as remote monitoring and support. These have considerably enhanced the capability of the Technical Services team.
David is leaving to become a full time project manager – we will miss him- and we wish him well in this new role. Meanwhile we are in the process of recruiting a new person for this role.
