First released in 1997, the Caduceus Home Support Management System was developed for Home Care Support and Nursing Bureau organisations after a number of years providing I.T. and software development services to the sector.
Caduceus has an ongoing programme of research and development. Over the last 9 years it has continued to change in order to meet the continually evolving needs of the Health Sector.
Today Caduceus is widely used by Home Support and Nursing Bureau organisations throughout New Zealand.

The Care Provider record holds a comprehensive set of information relating to each Care Provider, ranging from their contact details and next of kin, to their skill set, knowledge and availability (dates/times, geographical areas). It also allows a provider's specific pay rates to be documented and alerts to be recorded relating to any conditions or issues specific to the individual.
The Client Record holds information about each Client. This includes their contact details and next of kin, as well as the services they require (eligibilities) and Care Plans. It incorporates a schedule of all tasks to be undertaken and services supplied. In addition it allows alerts to be recorded relating to any conditions or issues specific to the individual's needs and preferences.
The Roster is the most frequently used area of Caduceus as this is how the user manages the day-to-day placement of Care Providers by Coordinators with Clients. Appointments can be created as single entries or as multiple entries into the future. They can be viewed graphically day by day. Colour coding provides visually recognisable prompts for special conditions such as holidays, appointments not associated with Care Providers, attached notes, or eligibilities exceeded. Within the Roster, users can search for relief Care Providers with appropriate skills and availability.
The Time sheet/Invoice record amalgamates all the rates, eligibilities and delivered hours ready for the generation of invoices. At a single click, roster information can be loaded into the time-sheet screen, allowing scheduled time to be comprised with lodged time-sheets for a specific Care Provider. Providing the roster is up to date, this reduces the time required to check what was planned to be delivered against what was actually delivered and manually update record variations. Both weekly and fortnightly time periods are supported. Exception reports highlight any where services delivered are over or under eligibility recorded for clients.
Funding organisations and private payers can be provided with electronic or paper based invoices. The generation of invoices from Caducues eliminates data entry errors arising from re-keying of data.
Interfaces to a range of Payroll and Finance systems allow electronic transfer of data, eliminating the need to manually reenter data.
